Aged Pioneer Passes This Life Last Wednesday Mrs. Jane Wilson, aged 84 years, died at the Grande Ronde hospital in La Grande Wednesday morning. death was due to a complication of diseases induced by inflammatory rheumatism from which she had suffered for many years. Mrs. Wilson had been confined to her bed for the greater part of the last five years and for the past three years had been a patient in the hospital where she died. Reference is here made to the branch of this family to which belonged the late Joseph Hewett, who for a period of thirty years was an honored resident of Brockton, and his posterity, numbered among whom have been men prominently identified with the business interests of the city for many years. Thomas Huet, born in 1609, was an early inhabitant of Hingham and a landholder. Probably Huet’s Cove in that vicinity took its name from him. He married (first) Elizabeth, daughter of William Chapman, who died in 1639, leaving most of his property to his daughter just named. She died May 22, 1649,” in Hingham. He married (second) Mrs. Mary Cutler, widow of John Cutler. Mr. Huet was a tailor and resided in West Hingham. He was made a freeman May 26, 1647. He died May 24, 1670, in Hingham, aged about sixty-one. His wife outlived him and removed to Charlestown.

In 1940 and 1941 Mrs. Sterling B. Jordan and Mrs. Frank W. Seth walked the 18 cemeteries in Poundridge, New York compiling the names and dates for all gravestones. Added to some of those gravestone listings were familial relationships if known. In addition, they referenced an even earlier listing of a few of the cemeteries by William Eardley taken in 1901.
Thomas Jonathan Wilson, the oldest in active pedagogical work of all teachers in San Bernardino County, is a native of Union County, Kentucky, and was born February 7, 1845. At the age of eleven years he moved with his parents to Sedalia, Missouri, in which State he was educated for the purpose of teaching. Henry Wilson, sheriff, was born in St. Lawrence County, N.Y., in 1841; moved with parents in 1851, to Dundas County, Canada West. In 1869 he moved to Clinton, Clinton County, Ia., and engaged in contracting and building; thence to Sac county in the autumn of 1875 and followed same business. He was elected to his present office in the autumn of 1881 and moved to Sac City in Jan., 1882.

The records include individual jackets which give the name, organization, and rank of each soldier. They contain cards on which information from original records relating to the military service of the individual has been copied. Included in the main jacket are carded medical records, other documents which give personal information, and the description of the record from which the information was obtained.

He was born on the old Wilson donation land claim near Greenville 71 years ago, and was the son of the late William and Sarah Wilson, pioneers of 1847. Mr. Wilson was married to Martha J. His master Tom Dexter was very kind to his slaves, and was said to have been a Yankee. His wife Mary Ann Dexter, a southerner, was the direct opposite, she was very mean. Forest Grove – Funeral Services are held for Two Forest Grove Women Mrs. James Wilson, who died at her home in this city Wednesday night was buried in Forest View Cemetery Saturday. The funeral services were held at the Christian Church at 11 o’clock, the services being conducted Rev. E.V. Stivers, former pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. C.H. Hilton.
