Margaret J. Hearing, 83, Portland, a former long-time Haines and Baker resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1980, in Portland.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grays West and Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave., with the Rev. R. Peter Anderson of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.[Haines Cemetery]
Mrs. Hearing was born on Jan. 14, 1897, in Haines to Christian and Elisa Kreigbaum Olson.
She was educated in Haines and married Ernest Hearing in Haines. Mr. Hearing preceded her in death on March 23, 1942.
She had been a resident of the Portland area for the past 33 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Anderson of Portland; two sons, Elbert of St. Helens and Ernest of El Cajon, Calif.; two sisters, Lena Winters of San Jose, Calif., and Theresa Romaine of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
