Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon James Franklin Wood, a resident of Wallowa for the last five years, passed away Tuesday afternoon following a lingering illness. Mr. Wood had been ill just three months and two days having been working at the mill the day he was taken sick. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Austin Beidler, old resident of Wallowa, passed away at his home there, Sunday, July 8, 1934. Mr. Beidler was the son of Henry S. and Elizabeth Beidler, and was born in Van Wert County, Ohio, Feb. 9, 1854. He came to Wallowa County in 1879, and was married to Melissa Alford Nov. 24, 1887. His widow and three sons and two daughters survive him: Herbert of Wallowa, Harry of Lostine, and Harland of Wallowa; Mrs. Leslie Harris of Elgin and Mrs. Edna Kiel of Wallowa. Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon Ruby P. Collins, 90, formerly of Joseph and Athena, died Monday, October 19, 1987 at Hillsboro. She was born April 10, 1897, at Athena, the daughter of Bern and Mary Pinkerton Banister. She was a member of Athena High School’s first graduating class. In 1916, she married Ross Payne. The couple farmed in the Adams area and had ranching interests at Joseph. Payne died in 1949, but she continued their farming and ranching until her retirement. Wagner, Charles

Charles Wagner died at Camp No. 1 of The East Oregon Lumber Co., last Friday night and was buried in the Enterprise cemetery Sunday afternoon. The funeral was held under the auspices of the Moose lodge. All of his relatives were sick and the funeral party was composed of eight auto loads of Moose members.
