Monday morning at her home northeast of Evans, Mrs. E. A. Crossler was suddenly and unexpectedly called to enter her rest. Her death came as a severe shock to her relatives and friends. In meeting life’s call as a mother she passed into the shadow and crossed to the other shore from whence no traveler ever returns. Besides her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Enterprise, Oregon Larry Edward Gibson, 60, of Alder Slope, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, with family members at his side. Larry was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of brain cancer and died after a six-month fight and a short hospital stay. Enterprise, Oregon The passing of one of Wallowa’s pioneers occurred Tuesday morning July 9th, when Aunt Mary Wright died at her home in Enterprise after an illness of several months. She and her husband homesteaded on Alder slope among the very first settlers in the county. Had she lived until December would have 89 years. Union Barber Loses Life In Minam River H. D. Tallman, 40, a barber of Union, was drowned in the Minam River, near Minam while fishing in that stream Sunday. There was no one near enough to Tallman to tell what caused him to fall into the river. Whether a misstep caused his precipitation into the water or whether his death was due to a heart attack is not known.
