Lostine, Wallowa County, Oregon
Mrs. Jessie May Hammack, Lostine, passed away Monday, August 8, 1960 at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Funeral services are being held today (Thursday ) at 2 p.m. at the Lostine Christian Church, with the Rev. Harold D. Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Wallowa Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammack who has lived in and near Lostine for 32 years was born March 16, 1876 in Waupaca, Wisc., daughter of Mason and Mary Allen. On November 16, 1913 she was married to James L. Hammack who preceded her in death in 1948.
Survivors include two sons, Dwight Purinton, of Lostine and Daniel Robinson, of Lewiston, Idaho, and two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Gertrude) Thom, of Hermiston, and Mrs. Conrad (Bessie) Lesser, of College Place, Washington, children of former marriages; a stepson Elwood Robinson, of Lewiston; two half-brothers: Samuel Warren, of Baker, and Orphus Warren, of Jacksonville; 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren
