Joseph, Oregon Samuel Grant Huffman, 69, of Baker City and formerly of Joseph died June 15 at his home. At his request there will be no services. Gray’s West & Company Pioneer Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Huffman was born Sept. 4, 1936, in Joseph. He drove logging trucks for E.T. Carter Logging, Kenny Mills logging and others. He always said logging was in his blood. He and his wife Qwendolyn and their three children moved to Utah. Killed By Fall From His Horse Accidental Death Of Will Lord In The Mountains Will Lord of Pine Creek, a young man employed by Graves Bros. was killed by a fall from his horse two miles beyond the salt cabins on Lick creek in the mountains 20 miles southeast of Joseph, some time between 11 and 1 o’clock, Monday.
