Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Alma Wilhelmina Eckley Baker passed away at Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise on Sunday, June 24, 1894. She was born on June 7, 1905at Joseph, daughter of Albin Max and Louise Rudger. As a young girl she grew up in the Liberty area east of Joseph and received her education at the Liberty School. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church. She started her married life with her husband, Benjamin Eckley, at Devil’s Gulch in a home in the mountains near Little Ship Creek. Enterprise, Oregon Harold Pat Lawrence Throop died May 6, 2007, at the Wallowa Valley Care Center. He was 89. Mr. Throop was born March 17, 1918, in Portland to Herrel R. Throop and Anna Throop Lynch. He grew up on the ranch of his parents, Anna and Charles Lynch. He graduated from high school there in 1936. In 1938 he moved to Cloverdale with his mother and stepfather. Prior to the start of World War II, Mr. Throop studied law at Willamette University. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Mrs. James Marks passed away suddenly Thursday noon, June 14, 1928, at the family home at Joseph. She had just eaten dinner when she was stricken and in a few minutes the end came. Two years ago in October Mrs. Marks suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she recovered only partly, and she was able to get about the house with the help of other members of the family. Joseph, Oregon Clada Fay Kiser, 80, of Joseph died Sept. 15. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Friday Sept. 22 at the Joseph United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kiser was born June 20, 1926, to Clay and Ada Wooldridge King in Buhl, Idaho. The couple had a seed-potato farm for many years. He died in 1977, and she worked for several years at the U.S. Forest Service office in Enterprise. La Grande, Oregon Spencer Fredrick Mastrude Spencer Fredrick Mastrude, 84, of La Grande died Feb. 14 at a local care home. A funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Mr. Mastrude was born April 29, 1922, to Fredrick and Agnes (Lozier) Mastrude in Joseph. He was educated in both Joseph and La Grande and graduated from Enterprise High School. Services Held Mrs. Sarah Scott Enterprise, Oregon Memorial services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bollman Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Sarah W. Scott who passed away Saturday, March 28, in a La Grande hospital where she had been a patient for the past ten days. Rev. John Munsey officiated and Mrs. A.L. Kintner was organist.
