Killed By Fall From His Horse Accidental Death Of Will Lord In The Mountains Will Lord of Pine Creek, a young man employed by Graves Bros. was killed by a fall from his horse two miles beyond the salt cabins on Lick creek in the mountains 20 miles southeast of Joseph, some time between 11 and 1 o’clock, Monday. Mrs. H.P. Throe (Cala L. Fovargue) Mrs. H.P. Throe, a pioneer of Union and Wallowa counties, died after an operation performed at the Enterprise Hospital. Cala L. Fovargue was born May 2nd, 1854, in Elkriver township, Clinton county Iowa. She was married to Hans P. Throe January 14th 1872. In November of 1877 they moved to Abilene, Kansas. After residing there for three years they moved to Oregon, making the journey by wagon. Three months after starting, they reached the Grande Ronde valley. Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon Child Passes Away Marvin Rynearson, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Rynearson, died at Doernbecker hospital in Portland Monday, Jan. 29, 1940. The parents went with the baby to Portland a couple of days earlier in the hope of finding treatment to meet the needs of the child. They arrived back in Joseph yesterday for funeral and burial services. The baby was born at Joseph March 5, 1939, and was survived by its parents and one sister. Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon Wallowa County native, Lillian Melissa Quinn, died Sept. 1, 1989, at Wallowa Memorial Hospital. She was born April 22, 1904, at Joseph, the daughter of John and Bessie (Halsey) Simmons. On April 21, 1921, she married Ernest E. Quinn, at Enterprise. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1967. She was a lifelong resident of Wallowa County.
