Roger L. Wellman, 74, of Baker City, died Sept. 10, 2005, at Providence Medical Center in Portland.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St. Pastor Bill Cox of the McEwen Bible Fellowship will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Roger was born on Nov. 24, 1930, at Baker City to Walter and Olive Lindley Wellman. He was raised and educated at Baker City. He spent most of his life in Baker County, except for 20 years in Portland when he was employed by the Chevron Corp. He was a member of Baker Elks Lodge, No. 338.
Survivors include his children, Sherry Aliff and her husband, Jerry, of Vancouver, Wash., Rena Morrow and her husband, Mike, of Haines, Mike Wellman and his wife, Brenda, of Newberg, and Eva Jarvis and her husband, Lee, of Kalispell, Mont.; sister and brother-in-law, Neva and John Jaquysh of Sand Point, Idaho; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Marvin, who was killed in World War II.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baker Elks Lodge, No. 338, through Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR 97814.
