Walker, Girtha Gwen Bainbridge Mrs. – Obituary

Girtha Gwen Walker, 81, of Kennewick, Wash., passed away, Tuesday, July 29, 2003, following a brief illness at Kennewick.

At her request, there were no services.

Girtha was born to Rachel and William Bainbridge on Dec 11, 1922, in Fentonia, Idaho. She was raised in North Powder by her mother and stepfather William R. Nice.

She married William J. Walker on July 9, 1938, in Weiser, Idaho.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William J. Walker of Kennewick, her son, Larry Walker of Kennewick, daughter and husband, Leanne and Steve McCalmant of Montana, brother Ben Bainbridge of Ashton, Idaho, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard, her parents and two sisters.

Girtha worked at the Red Lion for many years. In her free time she enjoyed shuffleboard and fishing. She enjoyed her times with family and friends and their many trips in the motorhome.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Tri-City Cancer Center or St. Judes Hospital in her name.
