Funeral services for Carl Dean Savage, former Haines resident who died at his home in Yreka, California July 21, were held here Sunday. Burial was in the Haines Cemetery with West and company of Baker in charge.
Mr. Savage was born in Lane county, Oregon, March 30, 1871. He came to Baker county with his parents when he was an infant. He and his brother E. E. Savage operated the Okay feed store in Baker for two years and he lived in Haines for several years prior to 1914, when he moved to Ashland where Mrs. Savage died. Mr. Savage was engaged in mining at the time of his death.
The deceased is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mintie Petropoli, San Diego; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Cavin, Gotville, California, Mrs. Ollie Gardner, North Powder and Mrs. Nora Lang of Yakima, Washington, and four brothers, J.S. Savage, Woodland, Washington, E. E. Savage, Baker, and J. R. Savage and I. N. Savage, Walla Walla.
