Emery A. Mace Dies At Joseph.
Emery Alvey Mace passed away September 2, 1960 at his home in Joseph following several months of failing health. Memorial services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bollman Chapel, with the Rev. A.L. Kintner officiating. Mrs. A. L. Kintner was organist and Paul Wilkinson, soloist, sang “Beyond The Sunset” and “He Givith More Grace.”
Casket bearers were: Hugh Estes, Frank Shevlin, John Baxter, Harry Johnson, Melvin Bue and Guy Mitchell, and internment was in the Enterprise cemetery.
Mr. Mace had been a resident of Wallowa County for the past 60 years and was a retired rancher. Son of John C. and Mary Jane Mace, he was born near Walla Walla, Wash., April 12, 1874. On February 28, 1911 he was married to Margaret H. Snell who passed away November 1, 1942. On May 20, 1950 he was united in marriage to Amelia Olson who passed away July 26, 1955. He had lived in Joseph for several years.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mabel Dent, Walla Walla; and a niece, Mrs. Jesse (Mabel) Waters, of Yakima, Wash.
