Supplement to The history of Windham in New Hampshire

This supplement to The History of Windham in New Hampshire was compiled by Leonard Allison Morrison and published in Boston in 1892. It continues and expands the local history first issued by the author in 1883. The volume documents the Presbyterian religious society of Windham from its organization in 1827 through 1892, including lists of officers, members, by-laws, and church funds, as well as proceedings from the fiftieth anniversary of the dedication of the church in 1885.

The work extends beyond church affairs to record civic and historical material concerning the town. It includes accounts of early and later settlers, the naming and development of Canobie Lake, town officers and voters from 1882 to 1892, and census statistics of Windham in 1890. It also preserves vital records for the decade 1882 to 1892 and provides a catalog of the local flora.

Genealogical material from Ireland forms a significantly important portion of the supplement. Morrison reproduced records of marriages, baptisms, and burials from the parish of Templemere in Londonderry, and compiled references to lands granted to Cromwellian Scotch officers in 1649. The volume concludes with proceedings from Windham’s Columbus Day celebration in 1892 and brief obituaries from 1882 to 1892.
