5. DANIEL5 CHASE (Caleb4, Daniel3, Hoses=, Aquilla) was b. Jan. 9, 1768; m. first, Feb. 28, 1796, Mary Fitch of Cornish, b. Noy. 2, 1775; m. second, Sept. 30. 1804, Mehitable Woodbury of Sutton, Mass.; m. third, Nov. 1, 1807, Nancy Strowbridge of Claremont, b. July 9, 1786. Mr. Chase came from Sutton, ‘lass., first to Cornish, where he m. his first wife, and soon afterwards he went to Claremont. where he built the Sullivan House in 1794 and was its proprietor till his death. He was a very popular landlord. He d. Dec. 2, 1840. Children by Mary Fitch:
i. POLLY (or Mary), b. Jan. 11, 1797; m. Oct. -, 1817, Austin Corbin of Newport. Shed. Nov. 7, 1869.
ii. DANIEL P., b. Jan. 22, 1799; m. Oct. 1825. Diantha P. Day. He d. July 31, 1856. A son, Daniel Fitch, m. Sept. 1, 1847, Mehitable H. Atwood of Cornish, dau. of Wm. and Rhoda. Two sons: 1. James E. P., b. May 15, 1851, a railroad engineer. 2. Frank Morton, b. Aug. 25, 1858, also in railroad employ. He d. -. Daniel F., d. Nov. 22, 1890.
Children by Mehitable Woodbury:
iii. SARAH P., b. Nov. 11, 1801; d. Nov. 17, 1818.
iv. WILLARD W., b. Nov. 10, 1805; m. Sept. -, 1833, Maria Dunlap. He d. Aug. 9, 1873.
Children by Nancy Strowbridge:
v. HITTY W.. b. Feb. 3, 1811; m. Feb. 11, 1834, Amos A. Watson, who d. Aug. 30, 1897. She d. April 8, 1881. They left one son who was killed by the cars, April 27, 1901.
vi. EMILY, b. Aug. 30, 1815; m. Oct. 5, 1840, A. B. Currier. Two daus. Shed. at Oak Park, Ill., in 1897. Mr. Currier d. Nov. 21, 1876.
vu. SARAH, b. Nov. 4,1821; m. Dec. 25, 1843, C. F. Norton. Six children. She d. Feb. 13. 1870.
viii. NANCY, b. Nov. 7, 1823; m. Dec. 25, 1840, Luther Farwell. Two daus. Shed. Feb. 5. 1907.
ix. JAMES H.. b. March 14, 1830; m. Dec. 25, 1854, Augusta S. Lamprey. Four children. He d. Aug. 1. 1893.
