WILHELM OTTO ROESCH. – The brewery of Pendleton, Oregon, is operated by Mr. Roesch, a man who has had long experience in all the processes of manufacturing the beverage. Born in Germany in 1855, he came to America in1870, working in a brewery. He followed the same business in San Francisco in 1874; at Steilacoom in 1886; at Portland until 1888. Wilma F. Molstrom of Adams died Wednesday evening [September 8, 1971] at Pendleton Community Hospital. She was 52. She was born near Gresham Nov. 15, 1908. She was married to Frank Molstrom Feb. 15, 1946, at Vancouver, Wash. They had lived on a farm near Adams since their marriage. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Garden Club, Pendleton Grain Growers Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Community Hospital Auxiliary, all of Pendleton. Peter Hunot, fell dead this afternoon [May 1, 1900] at 2:30 o’clock in the store of Rudolph Martin. He lives in Alkali Canyon, 12 miles from Pendleton, and leaves a wife and three children. Hunot has lived in this county for 18 years, coming here from his native land, France. About a year ago, he was injured in a runaway and never recovered from the effects. Coroner Folsom took charge of the remains. Peter was born on September 29, 1850. He married Eugenia Decravel on June 15, 1890 in Umatilla Co., Pendleton, OR. Interment at Olney Cemetery.

Enterprise, Oregon Barbara Ruth Berland, 92, of Pendleton, died Feb. 25, 2004. She was born Aug. 31, 1911 to Burton and Mabel (Gray) Kelsay in Burns. After graduating from Redmond High School in 1931, she lived with an aunt when she was selected as a princess for the Fourth of July Celebration in Enterprise. She married Marvin “Jake” Berland of Paradise in 1933 and together they ranched in Wallowa County for the next 30 years. He was born in 1833, in Tyler county, Virginia. He spent his early years in the old dominion, and his youth in Pennsylvania and Iowa, and in 1860 came by the well-worn Oregon trail to our state.
