The funeral for Leona C. Moser will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bishop Funeral Chapel in Pendleton with interment at Olney Cemetery.
Mrs. Moser, 97, of Pendleton, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996, at St. Anthony Hospital. She was born May 29, 1898 at Pendleton to Oliver Purl and Eva Stickler Bowman. She grew up in Pendleton and graduated from Pendleton High School.
On Dec. 20, 1924, she married Albert Moser at Pendleton. After their marriage, the couple lived at various locations in Umatilla County, settling at Pilot Rock in 1945. For several years, they owned and operated the Pilot Rock Motel. In 1962, she moved to Pendleton and helped her son who owned the Pioneer Motel.
Mrs. Moser was active in community volunteer work. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery, playing cards, dancing, and traveling when possible. She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her children: Carol Elliott of Pilot Rock, and W. Dale “Bill” Moser of Albany, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren., her husband, Albert; brothers, Roy Bowman, Oscar Bowman, Hugh Bowman, Kenneth Bowman, and Robert Bowman, and sisters, Mildred Crow and Florence Windsor, preceded her in death.
