Eldon Earl Owen, 59, a longtime resident of Pendleton, died Aug. 7, 2007, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Eldon was born Feb. 4, 1948, to Leon L. and Charlotte (Millman) Owen in Baker City. He was raised and educated in Baker City, and graduated from Baker High School.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1965 and served two and a half years in Germany, toured two active duties in Vietnam, served as Sergeant E-5, and was highly decorated. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1974.
He was employed by Lam Weston, Pendleton Wollen Mills and Eastern Oregon Training Center, where he had many friends.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family.
He is survived by his daughters, Kassie Owen of Portland and Cezanne White of Sacramento, Calif.; son, Eldon Owen of Sacramento; sisters, Janice Whitmore, Geraldine Lyttle, Evelyn Johnson, and Avin Bauer; brothers, Gary Owen, Steve Millman and Bruce Millman, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
