Joseph, Oregon Helen Marie Bower, 86, of Hilgard died Nov. 19 at a local care center. A celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in La Grande. George M. Gwenn died at the Enterprise Hospital on November 29th, 1917. Appendicitis was the cause of his death. Mr. Gwenn recently moved to a farm near Joseph and came from Walla Walla. He was fifty years of age and leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his departure. The body was sent to Walla Walla for burial on Friday the 21st. Clinton S. Daggett of Joseph died Jan. 15, 2006 at Willow Brook Terrace in Pendleton of natural causes. He was 89. Mr. Daggett was born in Joseph to Charles Walter and Lida Blanche Holmes Daggett. He married Patricia Irene Masturde in Vancouver, Wash., on April 12, 1939. She died in 1980. He spent his working life as a millwright. Courtney. On March 30, 1935, he married Gladys M. Bowen in Baker City. The couple lived and worked on the family farm then bought a part of it.
