Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon
Charles Andrew Simmons, 90, a life-long resident of Wallowa County, died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 1980, at Wallowa County Nursing Home, where he was a resident since 1975.
He had been in poor health for many years.
The son of James A. and Isabel Simmons, he was born in Joseph on Jan. 7, 1890.
He was a farmer by occupation until his retirement.
He attended the Enterprise Church of the Nazarene.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb.25, at the Bollman Chapel, with J. Maynard Norvell officiating.
Pastor and Mrs. John Flowers of the Nazarene Church sang “Jesus, Lover of My Soul” and “Amazing Grace.” Wanda Sorweide was organist.
Internment was in Prairie Creek Cemetery, Joseph.
Survivors include two sisters, Eva Marie Hudson of Island City, and Laura Stumbaugh, Susanville, Cal.; and nieces and nephews.
Bollman Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
