Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Pioneer Mother Services Today Mrs. Mellisa Jane Himelwright, one of the oldest of Wallowa County pioneers and who had been in failing health for the last several months, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 1957 at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Trezona in Enterprise. She fell last March and broke her hip and had since been confined to a wheel chair or her bed. Memorial services are being held this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Booth-Bollman Chapel with the Rev. Collins, Debrah Rae – Obituary

Debrah Rae Collins, 50, died at her home in Enterprise on Dec. 20, 2004. She was born Nov. 2, 1954 in Lebanon to Ray Albert Davenport and Dorothy Louise (Ruggles) Davenport. Debrah worked as a kitchen helper at the hospital. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Davenport, niece Melissa Jarrad, and her great niece Josie Jarrad, and her great nephew Damien Jarrad. Dalby, M. R. – Obituary

M.R. Dalby died at his home in this city, Friday, December 6th, after an illness of two weeks. He was taken ill with influenza which soon developed into pneumonia. His father, P.A. Dalby of Portland arrived a few days before the end just for brief moments of consciousness the son was able to know and talk with him. Wallowa County, Oregon Alta M. McFetridge passed away September 3, 1978 at Emanuel Hospital in Portland. Born February 8, 1900 at Enterprise, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Ownbey. She was a resident of Wallowa County most of her life. Enterprise, Oregon Child of D. W. Weaver The 12 year-old son of D. W. Weaver of Enterprise, was instantly killed Monday about 11 o’clock by the accidental discharge of a shot gun. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Last Rites Held For Burton Miller Memorial services for Albert Burton Miller, who passed away at Wallowa Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 20, 1965, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Bollman Chapel with the Rev. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Former Enterprise candy store owner, Walter Maxwell, died October 22, 1987 at Sumpter, the son of James H. and Lilly May Fisk. On October 27, 1926, he married Ruth Elaine Maxwell at Enterprise. She preceded him in death on September 22, 1986. The Maxwells owned and operated Maxwell’s candy store. In Enterprise for many years. Their daughter, Barbara operates the store now. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Stevens, of Enterprise. At Maxwell’s request, no services were held. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon, Chas. W. Berry died Monday morning at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Berry, of pneumonia resulting from influenza. He was ill only thirteen days. He was born at Imbler and was 20 years and 6 months of age. Besides his parents he leaves 6 brothers and one sister. Two of the brothers, Claude and W. Enterprise, Oregon Julie Butner, 57, former resident of Enterprise passed away at home surrounded by her family, on Sept. 12 in Spokane, Wash., after a brave five-year battle with cancer. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Mrs. Emma Samples, wife of John Samples, passed away Wednesday, June 23rd. Mrs. Samples was 48 years of age and came to Enterprise with her husband and family last fall to take charge of the City Hotel. She suffered an attack of pneumonia three weeks ago and the best of medical skill was not able to bring her back to health. The deceased leaves a husband and five children. Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Thomas E. Hinton passed away suddenly Thursday; March 8, 1928, at the Enterprise hospital where he had been a few days for treatment. A horse had stepped on one foot and serious infection had resulted. One toe was removed and it thought it was the source of the poison was eliminated and the patient would mend.
