Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon

Ettie Virginia Arnold of Enterprise died at the University of Oregon Medical Center in Portland on April 21, 1989.

She was born April 20, 1921, at West Jefferson, N.C., the daughter of Jessie and Nellie Lewis.

On Aug. 5, 1939, she married Quincy A. Arnold at Mount City, Tenn. The Arnold family moved to Enterprise in 1972.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat grove Baptist Church. She loved making quilts, gardening, walking, canning, camping and most of all attending yard sales.

Survivors include her husband Quincy; two sons, J.R. of Enterprise and Jones of Lebanon, Penn.; two daughters, Joyce Weidman of Peach Bottom, Penn., and Merinda Downing of Enterprise; four brothers, Gwyn Lewis, Enterprise, Gene Lewis, West Jefferson, N.C., Coy Lewis, Lenore, N.C., and James Lewis, Cleveland, Ohio; sisters, Ollie Lewis, West Jefferson, N.C., and Clyde Dipple, Acron, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be today (Thursday) at the Bollman Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Jerry Raedeke officiating. Music will be furnished by Wanda Sorweide, organist, and Tillie Johnson, vocalist. Pallbearers will be James Yost, Jack Morton, Scott Crane, Allen Estes, Kim Neth and Richard Halverson. Internment will be in the Enterprise cemetery.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Heart fund in care of the Bollman Funeral Home, Main at West 3rd, Enterprise.
