Funeral Held Here For Edna X. Jones Funeral services were held Wednesday for Edna X. Jones, 68, who passed away at her home on Saturday, April 30. The retired telephone company employee died after a short illness. Services were conducted at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in La Grande with Rev. William S. Woodman officiating. Burial was at the Cove Cemetery. Arrangements and services were under the direction of Dempsey’s Funeral Chapel. She was born in Cove on October 9, 1897 and had lived in Union County her entire life. E.P. MCDANIEL. – E.P. McDaniel, the junior partner of Cowles and McDaniel, was born in Missouri in 1839, and was raised on his father’s farm. In 1856 he emigrated to Kansas, where he engaged in farming and trading. In 1861 he crossed the plains to Portland, Oregon, and engaged in work at his trade of carpenter.
