JOHN T. JEWELL. – Mr. Jewell is a member of the Cove Dairy Company. He is a native of Indiana, having been born in that state in 1836. After receiving his education there and in Illinois, he was drawn west in 1859 by the Pike’s Peak gold excitement. From that point he quite naturally came on to Oregon. Nathan Taylor Gray, 65, a farmer in the lower Cove area, died at his home Tuesday morning, Nov. 5 after a heart attack. Youngest son of the late George G. and Vina Jasper Gray, Union county pioneers, Mr. Gray was born at the old family home in lower Cove on Jan. 19, 1892. He had lived in Union county all his life. Harley Floyd Caudle was born Dec. 23, 1904, in Lostine, and died on April 23, 1997, in Enterprise at the age of 92. Harley was the son of Berkley V. and Carrie Viola Hammack Caudle.
