Al Murphy, 76, of Cove, died Sunday, Feb. 24 (1979), at Grande Ronde Hospital. Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 18, 1903 at Cove, the son of Walter and Florence (Comstock) Murphy. He married Flossie Rollins in Cove, Sept. 2, 1923. He retired as a mechanic from Inland Machinery when the company moved to Yakima, Wash. Mr. Murphy was a member of the National Riflemen’s Association. Survivors include his wife, of Cove; son, Keith Murphy, of La Grande; sister, Mrs. Ward (Thelma) Miller, of Union; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and other relatives.
