Formerly of Cove 1921-2004 Robert Brooks Hancock, 82, of York, Mont., and formerly of Cove died June 1 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Mont. Burial was at Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison, Mont. Mr. Hancock was born Dec. 10, 1921, to Charles and Brooks George Hancock on the family farm near Cove. He graduated from Cove High School and served in the South Pacific for the Navy during World War II. In 1945 he married Jean Horner. Georganna Chadwick, of Cove, died Sunday, June 29, at Valley View Manor. She was 83. Mrs. Chadwick was born Dec. 1, 1896 at Cove, the daughter of George and Matilda (Conley) Miller, early pioneers in the Grande Ronde Valley. On Dec. 13, 1914 she was married to Lynn Chadwick at Cove. He preceded his wife in death on May 1, 1962. Mrs. Chadwick was a member of the Cove United Methodist Church and Mt. Fanny Grange. George Washington Barnes was born Feb 13, 1843 in Jackson County, Indiana and died July 18, 1913 at the home of his son in law, Frank Redman, of Paradise, at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 5 days. Martha Horton Fisher was born in Waynesborough, TN in 1832. She was the daughter of William Horton and America Cheek, a native of England, and the granddaughter of Isaac Horton who fought in the American Revolution. She married William Thomas Fisher in 1848 in Wayne County, TN. They immigrated to Arkansas around 1852 and were living there during the Civil War. Charles Lewis Blakeslee was born in Berlin, New York, in the year 1827. At the age of thirteen years he removed to the state of Michigan. In 1850 he was married to Caroline Dewey, and made his home in Battle Creek, Michigan.
