Prominent Pioneer Resident of Cove, Passes at Hot Lake Yesterday; Funeral Sunday
Judd Geer, a prominent resident of Cove for the greater portion of his life, passed on at four o’clock yesterday at Hot Lake at the termination of a long illness. His remains were forwarded to La Grande and funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon from the Snodgrass and Zimmerman funeral service parlors at one o’clock. Interment will take place in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
Mr. Geer, who was 55 years, 11 months and 6 days of age, is one of the pioneer residents of Union county and his death is mourned by a host of friends all over Union county.
He was born February 18, 1868. He was married in 1888 and to this union was born four children, two of whom survive him – Mrs. Claud Puckett and Mrs. Philip Lockwood of La Grande. He also leaves his widow; two brothers – T. T. Geer, of Portland and Blaine Geer, of Walla Walla, Wn., and one sister, Mrs. Joseph James of San Francisco, California.
