Rick Lonnie Leyva, 29, of Culdesac, Idaho, a former Baker City resident, died May 31, 2001, at Joseph Plains, south of Cottonwood.
His body was cremated and no service is planned at this time. Uhlorn Funeral Home at Cottonwood, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leyva was born at Valdese, N.C., on Dec. 31, 1971. He was the son of deaf-mute parents. He had lived in Idaho since April 1972.
Mr. Leyva attended schools at Clarkston, Wash., Baker City and Medford. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include a sister, Consuela Hernandez of Rialto, Calif.; three brothers, Marcelo and Valentino Leyva of Medford and Lorenzo Leyva of Springfield; his father, Leonel Leyva of Medford; his mother, Barbara Leyva of Juneau, Alaska; three nieces, McKenzie, Olivia and Jesstica of Medford; two nephews, Tyler of Medford and Christopher of Rialto, Calif.; his grandmother, Ruth Hamilton of Culdesac, Idaho; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kelly Jr.; his nephew, Dakota; and his grandfather, Bob.
