Ellen Haefer, 88, of Boise, Idaho, formally of La Grande, Ore., died Nov. 23, 2007, in Kuna, Idaho, at the Kuna Living Center.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Baker City, Ore.
Ellen was born June 5, 1919, in Baker City to Herbert Green and Esther Lane Green. She married Willard Haefer in Walla Walla, Wash., in 1936. They had one child, Amelia (Amy) Worm.
Ellen lived in Cornucopia and Muddy Creek and cooked in the Muddy Creek School in the 1940’s. She became a license practical nurse in 1950, training at St. Joseph Hospital in La Grande. Ellen worked at Grand Ronde Hospital, La Grande Ore., and at Willamette Valley Hospital in Oregon City, Ore.
She is survived by her daughter, Amelia and her children, Carol Ann and Scott Metsker, Randy and Reggie Coles, Darrell and Myra Coles, and Paul Long; great grandchildren, Stephanie and Steven Metsker, Chris and Alex Coles, Crystal, DJ, and Derek Coles; great great grandchildren, Maybelle and Alyssa Coles, Taylor Coles; sister, Viola Perkins; sisters-in-law, Vera Hill and Thelma Haefer plus many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetic Association or the charity of ones choice.
