Grim Angel Takes Pioneer of Grande Ronde Valley – Demise Due to Heart Attack Mrs. A. B. Conley, Union county pioneer, died this morning at 10 o’clock at her home here following a heart attack suffered yesterday afternoon. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Conley was born in Jefferson County, Ill., and was raised there, marrying A. B. Conley in the year 1858. In the fall of 1874 Mr. and Mrs. Conley and their three children came to Union county, crossing the plains with a team and wagon. UNION (Special) – Eugene B. Conklin died in a Portland hospital Tuesday evening following a heart attack. He had taken the exhibits, from Malheur county to the Pacific International and became ill about a week before his passing away. He was a prominent man in Eastern Oregon where he always was very active in public affairs. He was born in Ohio in 1865 and came to Oregon in 1888.
