La Grande, Union County, Oregon Mrs. Ada May Cooper, 62, of Portland died May 29 at the U. S. naval hospital at Astoria, following a long illness. The Cooper family moved to La Grande in 1924, and lived here until they moved to Portland in 1941. Mrs. Cooper will be remembered as the mother of Alice Jeanette and Maelizabeth Cooper, both of whom are dead. the girls were talented La Grande violinists. Surviving here are her sons, Lt. North Powder, Union County, Oregon Former Powder Man Dies In Missouri Word was received here Sunday telling of the death of Henry Conyers who died March 4 at the home of his sister in Osborn, Missouri. Burial took place March 6, which date was the anniversary of his birth. He was an old time resident of North Powder, having lived in this vicinity for the past 34 years and only left here a few months ago. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. He was 65 years of age. Randall Dean Conrad, 57, of Union, died unexpectedly at Grand Ronde Hospital Oct. 2. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. He was born on Aug. 31, 1950, to Robert and Camille Conrad in La Grande. On May 8, 1982, he married Donna Zerber in Nampa, Idaho. He entered the U.S. Army in September 1969, serving in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in March 1971. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Union and brother, Stephen Conrad of Nampa. La Grande, Union County, Oregon Nettie Conley of La Grande died Wednesday at the La Grande Nursing Center just 25 days short of her 100th birthday. Born Sept. 8, 1885, near La Grande, Mrs. Conley was the daughter of Charles and Martha (Childers) Golden. The Childers were a pioneer family who came to the valley in 1863 in a covered wagon. On July 18, 1902, she married Archie Conley at Union. They farmed at Phrys Point in Cove for several years. The Conley’s owned and operated one of the first combines brought into the Cove area.
