Helen A. [sic – Janet] Conklin, 70, of Conklin Lane, Cove, died at her home yesterday. She had been a resident of the Cove area since 1910.
Funeral services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Cove Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Dudley Johnson, United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Services and arrangements are being handled by the Dempsey’s Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Conklin was born Dec. 18, 1900 in Stanton, Neb., the daughter of A. A. and Lula [sic – Lulu] Antles. She was married on June 21, 1922 in Cove to Thomas Richard Conklin who died Aug. 9, 1970. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Cove, Cove Library Guild, and Cherry Chapter No. 117, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son Thomas Richard Conklin, Cove; a daughter Mrs. LeRoy (Gayle) Childers, Wallowa; a brother Harry Antles, Yakima, Wash.; a sister Mrs. Clifford Kail, Yakima; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
