Summerville (Special) – Funeral services for Asahel J. Colt, pioneer resident of this community, were held in the Snodgrass Funeral home Thursday afternoon, Rev. Gene Robinson officiating. Mrs. Chester Colt, Portland, was soloist, and she was accompanied by Mrs. Zelpha Colt Downing, also of Portland.
Casket-bearers were four grandsons, Tommy Hiatt, Bill, Bob and Ken Goss, and two grandsons-in-law, John Groupe and Larry Berglund.
Here from out-of-town for the service, were Mr. Colt’s sister-in-law, Mrs. J. V. Colt and Mrs. Chester Colt, and his niece Mrs. Zelpha Colt Downing, all of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Vaden and daughter, Baker; Tom Hodgsen, Pendleton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Garbe, Jr., Touchet, Wash.
