Harry K. Hayes, 79, died Monday [May 2, 1977] at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1897 in Ellensburg. He farmed in the Denmark District until retirement in 1962. He continued to live on the farm until he moved to Ellensburg in 1972. He and his wife Ruby then made their home at 700 S. Whitman St
Survivors in addition to his wife include four sons, Homer Hayes of Oak Harbor, bill Hayes of Oak Harbor, bill Hayes of Prosser, Jerry Hayes of Yakima, and Joel Hayes of Renton; four daughters, Mrs. Juanita Dusbabek of Seattle, Mrs. Barbara Scenna of Corona, NY, Mrs. Kay McPherson of Ellensburg, and Mrs. Sandra Johnson of Ellensburg; 26 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m., May 5, at Evenson Chapel. The Rev. Bill Dietz will officiate and burial will follow at High Valley Memorial Gardens
The family suggests those wishing to send memorials send them to the Heart Fund in care of Mrs. Frank Green, 913 E. Washington St
Harry was the son of James Thomas Hayes and Nancy Elizabeth Fortney. He was born May 23, 1856. He was married three times: Mae Etta Noland on April 12 1919 in Ellensburg, Rose Phillips on July 4, 1927 in Canada, and Ruby Miles about 1929
