Shaver, Clarence – Obituary

Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon

Clarence E. Shaver passed away August 13, 1978 at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for ten days.

He was born on May 8, 1910 at Enterprise, the son of Ora and Alice Shaver.

He lived in Wallowa County all his life, and was a retired rancher, stock raiser and general farming.

Funeral services were held August 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Enterprise Community Church with Eric Walch officiating.

Soloist was Cliff Collingsworth singing “Beyond The Sunset” and “In The Garden”. Organist was Lois Hough.

Pall bearers were Bill Bissinger, Stan Farris, Alex Guest, Donald H. Davis, Jack Kreizenbeck and Ray Milligan.

Ritual services were by Vrasey Lodge # 82 AF and AM of Enterprise with vault internment in the Enterprise Cemetery.

On January 1, 1935, Mr. Shaver was married to Irene M. Staggs. He was a member of the Enterprise Community Church, BPOE # 1829 of Enterprise, Veasey Lodge # 82 AF and AM, Wallowa County Shrine Club, Wallowa County and Oregon Cattlemen’s Associations, Scottish Rite of Baker and a former member of IOOF # 153 of Enterprise.

Survivors include his wife of Enterprise; a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Beverly Jean) Hambelton of Kennewick; one son, James (Larry) Larkin Shaver of Hermiston; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Hammond of Enterprise and Mrs. R.H. (Florence)
McCullough of Eugene; four grandchildren and two nieces.

Bollman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
