Ilean Dennis Seal, 79, of Baker City, died Jan. 29, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Chuck Risley of the American Legion will officiate. There will be a reception afterward at the American Legion, 2129 Second St.

Ilean was born on May 30, 1927, at Fillmore, Calif., to Alvie “Possum” and Ada Flinn. She worked as telephone operator and retired from Nevada Bell after 33 years.

She was active with the American Legion in Baker City where she served as president and other officer positions. She also worked with the chamber of commerce after her retirement from the phone company and she was an active volunteer for the community.

Ilean had a love of life. Her favorite things were shuffleboard, dancing and her family. She was very supportive of her grandson, Jeremy Stauffer, while he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and she also supported all the troops.
Her family members expressed their appreciation to Steve and Virginia Medlin “for three years of loving care that they gave to Ilean.”

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lavaughn Dennis, who died in 1983 and Gerald Seal, who died in 1993; her sister, Josephine; and her son-in-law, David L. Blair.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Blair of Baker City; a brother, Dennis Flinn of Bend; granddaughter, Kimberly, and her husband, Lance Daniels of McCall, Idaho, Tina and her husband, Jeremy Stauffer, of Baker City; three great-grandchildren, Justyn Boyer of Boise, Carlee Daniels of McCall, Idaho, and Andy Stauffer of Baker City.
