Virgil N. Rowan, 67, 415 Second St., Baker, died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24 at the Langrell Mortuary Chapel, with Bishop George W. Gwilliam, presiding and Kenneth Kofford conducting. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Union, Oregon.
Mr. Rowan was born August 18, 1906 at Union. He was a long time resident of Baker, having worked for the Stoddard Lumber Company, Oregon Lumber Company, Baker Lumber Co. and for the Burnt River Lumber Company for 16 years before retirement in 1971. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Draper Rowan, Baker; two sons, Norman J. Rowan, Barstow, California, and V. Ray Rowan, North Powder; a sister, Lois McDaniel, Ontario; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
