Arr K. O’Connell, 99, of Baker City died May 16, 2008, at Meadowbrook Place.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled later.
Arr was born on Aug. 29, 2008, at Longmont, Colo., to Bebridge and Nora Olglevie Ferguson. She was the third of eight children: Gala, Doy, Arr, Una, L.B., Max, Marcelle and Wilrose. She was raised at Salt Lake City.
She married Cornelius O’Connell on Oct. 28, 1930.
The couple raised two children, Richard and Nora Ann, at Tulelake, Calif., and the Burnt River area of Baker County where they enjoyed many years of ranch life.
After retiring from ranching, they farmed for a few years in the Willamette Valley near McMinnville and then retired to Baker City in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gala and Una; brothers, Doy and Max; her husband, “Corny”; and daughter, Nora Ann.
Survivors include her brother, L.B.; sisters, Marcelle and Wilrose; her son, Richard, and his wife, Dixie; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice through Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR 97814.
