Gertrude Jensen Mortensen died Jan. 25, 2005, at age 94 in Halfway.
Services were held in Ogden, Utah, on Friday, Jan. 28, 2005. Interment was at Hyrum City Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Hyrum, Utah and was the youngest child of William H. Jensen and Alice Wilson.
Gertrude married Boyd D. Iverson on July 22, 1936. They were later divorced. She married Heber R. Mortensen on Aug. 23, 1957. She graduated June 1953 from Utah State Agriculture College and was an elementary school teacher for many years in Weber County Schools. After her retirement, she enjoyed teaching adults to read. In 1999 Gertrude moved to Halfway with her son Al.
Gertrude was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Retired Teachers Association. She was a lifetime member of the LDS church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Heber; all of her brothers and sisters and one son, William Boyd Iverson.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Trudy Iverson Dunn of Sultan, Wash., and Al B. Iverson of Halfway; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
