Curtis Edward “Curt” Medlin, 81, of Baker City, died Feb. 7, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Health Services.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St. Pastor John Goodyear of the Baker Valley Church of Christ will officiate. Vault interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Coles Funeral Home.
Curt was born on Sept. 10, 1925, at Malden, Mo., to Lopoleon and Ida Medlin. He married Melba Walker, his wife of 54 years, on March 18, 1944. She died on Jan. 14, 1998.
Curt served from July 1944 to December 1945 in U.S. Army in the American and European Theaters of Operation during World War II. He was employed by Phillips-Long Ford for 40 years before his retirement.
He was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3048. He served as post commander in the early 1970s.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Larry Carter of Salem and Vicki Medlin and Craig Courtright of Placitas, N.M.; three grandsons and their spouses, Jeff and Aimee Carter of Salem, Russ and Jody Carter of Klamath Falls and Todd and Michelle Carter of Salem; nine great-grandchildren, Mallory, Tyler, Chelsca, Emily and Allison, all of Salem, Sarah and Sam of Klamath Falls and David and Grace of Salem; and companion, Mae Westrope.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR 97814.
