Jordan, Oren C. – Obituary

Oren C. Jordan, 91, of Baker City died Nov. 8, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Health Services.

After several years teaching in many locations, Newbridge, Gilchrist, Eugene and Muddy Creek, Oren moved back to Baker City to work at the Post Office until his retirement.

He served in the Army from June 1945 to August 1946 at Holabird Signal Depot, Maryland, where he studied counter intelligence and methods of investigative reports becoming an instructor to teach military personnel military intelligence until he was discharged at the end of the war.

On Sept. 4, 1941, Oren married his wife of 66 years, Alberta Ebell.

Oren is survived by his wife Alberta; two sons: Michael D. Jordan and his wife Judi, and Jerry L. Jordan and his wife Christine; four grandchildren: Jennifer Jordan, Dr. Jeffrey Jordan and his wife Marcy, Lyle Jordan and Amy Estergard and her husband Michael; two step-grandchildren: Claire and Sarah DeNoy; and two great grandchildren: Lucy Ellen Estergard and Caelyn Terese Jordan.

Contribution can be sent in care of Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Avenue, Baker City, OR 97814.
