Anah “Jerry” Jennings, 80, of Joseph died May 31 at his home. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday June 3 at the Joseph Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Jennings was born March 27, 1926, to Anah and Helen Jennings in Joseph. He served in the navy during World War II, and on Feb. 14, 1952, he married Shirley Newton. He bought Jerry’s Richfields service station in Joseph, and worked at Enterprise Electric before starting Jennings Electric. He was the head electrician at Boise Cascade until his retirement.
He served as commander of the American Legion post 157 for two terms, and was a member of the VFW. He was on the Joseph Fire Department for 13 years, and served on the Joseph City Council, the Joseph School Board and the Joseph Cemetery Board.
He enjoyed picking huckleberries, hunting, camping, gardening, woodworking and debating with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of Joseph; children and their spouses, Julie and Dennis Botts of Enterprise, Greg and Monica Jennings of Joseph, Larry Jennings of Farson, Wyo., Diana and Kirk Locke of Pendleton, and Rob and Laurie Jennings of John Day; four sisters, Louise Bittle, Ann Rayburn, Joyce Tautfest and Sharon Courtney; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
