Services Held For Lyle Boner
Memorial services for Lyle Boner who passed away at his home Sunday, Dec. 9. 1973, were yesterday (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Bollman Chapel with Rev. Gertrude Sorlien officiating. Organist was Maxine Kooch and soloist was Clifford Collingsworth who sang “Whispering Hope” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Casket bearers were: Herb Reavis, Leonard Whitten, John Freels, Milo Fairchild, Clyde Hays and Kirk Hayes. Honorary pallbearers were: Kenneth Towers, Fred Himmelwright, Milo Puderbaugh, Malcom Dawson, Don Kooch and Arthur Bartmess. Vault interment was in the Enterprise cemetery.
Lyle was the son of Walter E. and Laura Boner and was born at Joseph on July 2, 1912. On Sept. 30, 1932 he was married at Joseph to Sylvia Daggett. He was a rancher and an employee of Boise Cascade Lumber Company and had lived in Wallowa County all his life. He was a member and a trustee of the Joseph Methodist Church. He was a member of the Hurricane Creek Grange and belonged to the Stonecrafters Rock Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia, at the ranch home near Joseph; two sons, Dale and Gary, both of Pendleton; and five grandchildren.
