Biographical Sketch of William Addison Howe

Howe, William Addison; merchant; born, Cleveland, O., March 4, 1839; son of Amariah D. and Elizabeth Shaw Howe; educated, Cleveland public schools; married, Cleveland, Jan. 17, 1866, Rachel Sage; issue, one daughter, three sons; served three years in the Civil War, as private, sergeant, 1st and 2nd lieut. and capt. in the 7th Ohio Volunteer infantry; pres. Cuyahoga Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument Committee; vice pres. Society Army of the Potomac; past commander Army and Navy Post; several years in the picture frame business; established, in 1878, incorporated, in 1895, business for mounting and finishing paper for lithographers and printers; specializing in hangers, posters, show cards, etc.; pres. The Wm. A. Howe Co.; member Chamber of Commerce, Euclid Ave. Baptist Church, Masonic Fraternity, Loyal Legion, Grand Army of the Republic, Society Army of the Potomac.
