Sheriff St. Market & Storage Co.; born, Stark County, O., 1854; son of Augustus and Amanda Stier McDaniel; educated in the public schools; married, Canton, O., 1879, Miss Mary A. Cobaugh; issue, seven children; Mrs. J. A. Sullivan, Mrs. R. R. Braggins, Mrs. M. L. Crowell, Edith, Louise, Margaret and Augusta; learned the carriage trimmers trade; one of the organizers of Canton Spring Co.; for twelve years vice pres. of the Company; came to Cleveland in 1894, mgr. of the Sheriff St. Market & Storage Co. for a number of years; now treas. of the Company, also treas. The Cleveland Tanning Co.; director The Western Reserve Insurance Co.; in 1908, made pres. of the Congress of Refrigerating Industries at Paris, France; and attended convention in that connection; resulted in the organization of an American Association of Refrigeration; pres. of Association; director International Congress of Refrigerating Industries; director of the American Warehousemen’s Ass’n; pres. in 1908; Republican; member Euclid Golf Club.
