Enterprise, Oregon Julie Butner, 57, former resident of Enterprise passed away at home surrounded by her family, on Sept. 12 in Spokane, Wash., after a brave five-year battle with cancer. Her shortened life left her with many great memories, most of which were shared with her husband, John Butner, of 39 years. She was born on Aug. 31, 1947 to Jack and Evelyne Wagner. Ruth Ackerman, 41 and five children died Tuesday, November 29, when a fire leveled their log home at Priest River, Idaho. The father, William Ackerman, 48, thought his family was behind him when he rushed to the door but they weren’t. The minute he opened the door the house became an inferno. A sixth child, Randy, 15 was sleeping in a nearby camper vehicle and was not injured.
