Bob Swisher of Enterprise died Aug. 9, 2006, at his home of natural causes. He was 85.
Mr. Swisher was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Paradise to William Harry Swisher and Martha Ann Gordon Swisher.
He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on May 8, 1942. He served with the 9th Construction Battalion with a rank of First Class Mech. Mate during World War II. On May 21, 1946, he married Nadine Joy Fordice.
He worked for Wallowa County for a year after returning from the service.
He then made his living as a rancher for the rest of his life.
Survivors include his wife Nadine at home, Doris Helem, Carl Swisher, Harry Swisher, Debbie Brewer, sister Leita Beard of Asotin, Wash., five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Disposition will be by cremation. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
