Frank E. Ormsby, 84, Montgomery County native and longtime resident of Darlington, died Wednesday night [October 15, 1969] at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had entered the Ben Hur Nursing Home last Friday. He had been in failing health for several years.
Mr. Ormsby was born November 26, 1884, in the northern part of the county, the son of William and Violet Coyner Ormsby. He spent most his life in Darlington where he was a member of the Congregational Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Merrill Wise of Union City, Ind.; three nephews, William Stuckey of Union City, Faye Ormsby of Louisville, Ky, and John Gilmore of Colfax, and a cousin, Mrs. Martin Campbell of Darlington.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bright Funeral Home in Darlington. Burial will be in the Darlington Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m., Friday.
