Services for Ada K. Ormsby, 77, of Nampa, who died Tuesday, Feb 19 [1985], in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m., Friday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The Rev. Rand Sargent of the Fruitland Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Ormsby was born Feb. 18, 1908, in Pine, to Lewellyn and Cordelia Roberts. William Ormsby, Jr. aged 24, died at his home seven miles northeast of here this morning [August 8, 1912]. His demise was caused by blood poisoning resulting from a slight scratch which he received while working on his farm Tuesday. He had been as well as usual and had been to town on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday afternoon but when the poison set in, death was sudden. Henry Augustus Ormsby, 90, an uncle of Frank Ormsby of Darlington, died April 21 at the home of a son, Louis Ormsby, in Sand Springs, Okla. it was learned here Saturday. We begin our story in the year 1854 when the United States Congress organized the Nebraska Territory. Four years later, a law was passed defining the boundaries of its counties and locating their county seats. Merrick County now had a name and a county seat — Elvira. To the present day no one knows the exact location of Elvira, but many pioneers believed it was located two miles southeast of Clarks.
