Services for Archie Grant Conley, 63, farmer of 1501 Cedar St., who died Friday at Grande Ronde hospital, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Dempsey’s Funeral Chapel. Auspices will be by Cove Lodge No. 91 A.F. & A.M., and burial will be in the Island City cemetery. Dr. Louis Samson will officiate.
Mr. Conley was born at Cove, and lived his entire life in Cove and La Grande. He was a graduate of Whitman College, and member of Beta Theta Phi Fraternity, Cove Lodge No. 91 A.F. & A.M., Grande Ronde Valley No. 20. Royal Arch Masons, Union Council No. 5 R & SM, Baker Consistory Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons, Al Kader Temple, Order of the Mystic Shrine; Cherry Chapter No. 177, Order of Eastern Star, BPOE No. 433, and Oregon and Union County Cattlemen’s Association.
Survivors include his widow, Estelle; four stepchildren, Tom, Bill and Bart Garrison, all of Roseburg, Mrs. Bob Boyle of Denver, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Merrell Conley and Virgil Conley, both of Cove, two sisters, Mrs. Vina Ross of La Grande, Mrs. Maxine Stuart of Cove; one nephew, Frank Conley of Cove; one niece, Mary Jane Johnson of Eugene; and an aunt, Mrs. Eugene Millering of La Grande.
