DR. B. M. TRABUE was born at Columbia, Adair Co., Ky., June 3, 1827, and is a son of William and Elizabeth (McDowell) Trabue. Our subject’s grandparents made their escape from France, and coming to this country settled on Staten Island. They lived there some years, and then with the other early pioneers came to this State. The grandfather was captured by the Indians, but afterward escaped, and lived here until a good old age. The father was a mechanic, but did not follow his trade very much. DR. ALVA T. McKINNEY was born November 14, 1856, at Roaring Springs, Trigg Co., Ky. His father, Dr. Guy W. McKinney, was a native Kentuckian, and was born March 12, 1816, descending from Irish ancestors. For over forty-five years he was a practicing physician of more than ordinary ability, and was a graduate of the Medical College of Columbus, Ohio. His wife, whose maiden name was Rhoda Shilton, was born in 1821, in Trigg County, Ky., where she now resides. DOUGLAS MERIWETHER was born August 25, 1842, in Car-roll County, Miss., and in 1858 removed to Ballard County, Ky., where he remained until 1861, when he enlisted in Company C, Seventh Kentucky Mounted Infantry, and continued in the service until the end of the war. His father, Robert E. Meriwether, was a native of Todd County, and died in Ballard County, Ky., 1860, aged about fifty years. DAVID W. JESSUP was born February 21, 1836, in Logan County, Ky.; his parents were Acey W. and Sarah (Johnston) Jessup. DANIEL MORGAN was born December 23, 1796, in Chatham County, N. C. His parents were William and Milla (Brewer) Morgan, both natives of the same State. They both died of a fever the same day in 1804. They are buried on Hall River, N. C. Our subject came to Christian County, Ky., in 1805, with his grandfather and uncle-Nathaniel and George Brewer. COLEMAN JORDAN was born November 21, 1812, in Halifax County, Va. In 1829 he came to the neighborhood of Bowling Green, Ky.; soon after removed to Todd County, where he has since resided, and for many years engaged at the carpenter trade, also farming. He was married, in 1846, to Lucy H. Terry. She was born in 1826 in Tennessee. Eight children have been born to this union: Elizabeth, Granville C. A., Tabithe, Maria, Coleman E., Robert, Dixie and Lucy J. His three sons are carrying on the carpenter trade-Granville C. A., Coleman E. and Robert.
