Y.; his paternal great-grandfather, Francis King, fought through The Revolutionary War, and settled in the town of Ithaca, N. Y.; at the close of the war; his paternal grandfather, Alexander King, born in Ithaca, N. Y., in 1801; he married Rachel Casterline; his father, Warren Leander King, was born in Ithaca. N. Y., in 1829; his maternal grandfather, Elbridge Gerry Phelps, was born near Wethersfield, Conn., about 1805; he married Mary Delialah Knowles; his mother, Mary Eliza Phelps, born in Delaware county, N. Y. State, in 1840.
