Ozette Indians. Significance unknown.

Ozette Connections. The Ozette were a southern branch of the Makah and belonged to the Nootka branch of the Wakashan linguistic family.

Ozette Location. On the Ozette Lake and Ozette River in Clallam County.

Ozette Villages.

  • Ozette, at Flattery Rocks.
  • Sooes, 4 miles south of the Makah village of Waatch.

Ozette Population. (See Makah Indians.) A single Ozette Indian was reported in 1937.

Connections in which the Ozette Indians have become noted. An island, a lake, a river, and a village are named Ozette after them.
